Landscape Transformation

Follow along as we transform a plain, unused, back yard into a lush tropical oasis.

The homeowners contacted The Green Man after seeing a bamboo tiki hut bar at a home show, and deciding they wanted to create an outdoor entertainment area in their backyard. The yard was pretty much unused and uninviting.

After meeting with the Homeowners and the Tiki Hut builder, Accent Home and Garden, we developed a landscape plan which included the tiki hut situated on a free-form-paver patio with lots of planting beds for tropical plants and garden accents. We decided to leave the existing Live oak tree in place to create a canopy effect.

Here is the site after the pavers were installed, as the palms were being planted. We used a mix of Foxtail, Alexander, and Sunshine Palms.

Here is the site upon initial completion, prior to the installation of the Tiki Hut. The garden will continue to evolve, as trees grow and plants mature, some plants will be changed for others, but the lush tropical feel is already evident.

And here is the yard with Tiki Hut in place, and the garden already maturing.
